Hi all,
So my lfs recently started to sell waterbox, and got to see the marine x 110.4 in person with the stand and I could not stop staring at it! I currently have a Fluval flex 15g reef tank and a biocube 32 reef tank but am really interested in this tank but want to ask some questions first. If I got this tank would it be able to hold a foxface? The display tank is about 4 feet long and holds 80 gallons. I’m also wanting to get a tang just not sure which one yet if I do get the tank. Also is one of my tanks good for a quarantine tank? I’ve been in the hobby for about 6 months now and would still have to learn all about quarantine and also how the sump and everything works. I have a good understanding of how the sump works but you can never know enough in this hobby! Also if anyone has this tank or the other sizes your opinion would be great to hear.
thanks in advance!

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tank-sizes-for-tangs-help-us-create-a-list.82891/ found this link for tangs and looks like 80g would be the min for a decent amount might have to upgrade later down the road. I say get the largest tank you can if you do. Good luck

hello! I have the water box 110.4 and a white tail kole tang. He absolutely loves it and has plenty of space to swim around! I used a 15g peninsula dosed with copper to quarantine all my fish. I’m currently running a UV sterilizer since I OD’d phyto lol. Isn’t always there.

Agree with this. I’m in the camp of always go larger if you’re able to.

I do second this. Although I love my 110.4 I have already been looking at a bigger water box probably would have been cheaper to go big first. The only thing I dislike about the 110.4 is the sump there is no refugium section so I had to add a glass wall and it just floats there. If money isn’t a concern then go bigger but if you do want to stay to a budget then you will love this tank!

The odds of your comment occurring at this moment is brilliant. I am literally looking around as we speak for a baffle to install into the sump to separate skimmer and refugium lol. Do you have a baffle and silicon you can recommend?

Haha I would definitely add the baffle before anything. I went with a glass baffle. You can go to your local Home Depot or glass shop you can either cut it your self or have them cut it to the right size. Let me check what silicon is the best I do not have it siliconed at the moment since my tank is wet and I can’t remove the sump for the two week cure time. Once you add the baffle you will be golden!

Your tank looks amazing! I ended up going with the frag 105.4 for a few reasons. My lfs sold the tank before I had the chance to purchase it and I was going to get him to order one but the price increased by $300 Canadian. Im going to use my 15g for a quarantine, but I’ve never quarantined my fish before (learned that you should the hard way) any tips or recommendations?
